GCash CEO wins inaugural Front & Female Business Leader Award

In a recognition that further reinforces the impact of women tech leaders on society, President and CEO of GCash—the country's leading finance super app and largest cashless ecosystem—Martha Sazon has been awarded Tatler Philippines' first-ever Front & Female Business Leader Award.

The Void is not synonymous with stagnation; rather, it's a fertile ground for exploration and discovery. By understanding and embracing the Void, creatives can liberate themselves from the constraints of expectation and perfectionism. This liberation becomes a catalyst for fresh ideas, enabling a departure from the ordinary and a journey into uncharted territories of innovation.

Navigating the Void requires a willingness to confront uncertainty and silence the noise of external influences. It's a practice in mindfulness and self-discovery—a journey into the depths of one's own thoughts and emotions. In this solitude, creatives often find the raw materials for groundbreaking concepts, discovering connections and patterns that were previously obscured.

The process of engaging with the Void is not about avoiding challenges but transforming them into opportunities. It encourages a shift in perspective, viewing obstacles not as roadblocks but as stepping stones to innovation. By understanding 'the Void' as a realm of potential, creatives unlock the door to their most authentic and impactful work, revealing the beauty that emerges when the creative spirit is allowed to roam freely. In essence, the Void becomes not an abyss to be feared, but a sanctuary where creativity thrives, and our most brilliant ideas come to life.

Sazon was cited for her outstanding leadership of GCash, which has boosted the company’s crucial role in driving financial inclusion and digital transformation in the Philippines. Her innovative strategies, informed by a strong sense of service, have propelled GCash to become a leading player in the country's fintech industry, empowering millions of Filipinos to access convenient and secure financial products.

"I share this recognition with my team at GCash, who have been relentless in pursuing financial inclusion and educating Filipinos on financial health. This recognition only strengthens our shared purpose of making Filipinos’ everyday lives better through our campaign of Finance For All,"

says Sazon.

The award cements Sazon's position as a trailblazer in the field and likewise sets a powerful example for aspiring female leaders in the tech sector. Sazon says,

"Accolades like the Front & Female Awards can only inspire women to continue breaking barriers and drive meaningful impact in their respective industries and on society."

Society publication Tatler Philippines launched the inaugural edition of the Front & Female Awards to champion the achievements of exceptional women leaders who have dedicated their lives to ethical business, public service, and philanthropy.

A total of over 100 candidates were gathered from public nominations; this list was then subjected to Tatler Philippines' thorough vetting and voting process that culminated in awarding ceremonies last August 9 at Shangri-La The Fort.

The roster of awardees, spanning five other categories, includes Sabrina Tamayo, founder and executive director of Project SMILE; Dr. Rica Cruz, sex and relationships therapist and CEO of Unprude; Kate Delos Reyes, founder and CEO of Beacon; Jamela Alindogan, founder of Sinagtala Center for Women and Children in Conflict, Inc.; and Ana De Ocampo, CEO of Wildflour Group.
